BREAK OUT
By Quentin Smith
I am swimming up the staircases of the moon,
Grasping wildly at the chandeliers of light,
Laughing goes around and around the walls,
The corners are cracked open into the night
--Dark sky comes pouring in,
Outside the stars are plastered beyond the clouds.
I am thrown over the line. My brain is whirling
Through the cries of a maddening song.
